Wedding Weekend
Our Story

OUR STORY

AS TOLD BY KERRI

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…

Our story began a decade and a half ago, when two fresh-faced freshmen at Florida State (Go NOLES!), met outside of a house party on Campus Circle.  Finding out that we shared a couple of different circles of friends and the same sense of humor, our own friendship took shape.  For two years, you would find us together every weekend; either in the campus diner shooting spitballs at each other, at parties TaKiNg PiCtUrEs, obnoxiously quoting movies or referring to each other as husband and wife.

We clearly like to take our time, so after two years in the friend zone we decided it was time for the next step and I asked Dan to ask me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward to 13 years later: factor in a move to NYC, getting the most handsome angel dog/lamb in the world- Ralph and a proposal involving a pig & a pun and not much else has changed...except for the spitballs (we’ve really matured).

Soon we will “officially” be able to call each other husband and wife and we can’t wait to celebrate that with you!

AS TOLD BY DAN

We met in college and fell deeply in love.

Between 9am-5pm- Guest Arrival

Arrive at Wiawaka & check in at the Fuller House.

9am-  Breakfast*

We have lovingly stocked the Fuller House kitchen with all you need for the most important meal of the day. Have some coffee, a bagel & schmear or grab a granola bar to-go!

11am- YOGA on the Dock

Get your downward dog, pigeon, crow and all your other animals on.  Expertly guided by our favorite Yogi, Dali, all levels are welcome to get centered on the dock.  Mats are provided, so you have no excuse.

Free Day of activities

Explore the lake, swim, fish, play a round of golf, shop, take a hike or a nap (we won't judge).  We will judge you, however, if you don't bring FSU gear for when we watch the first game of the season!  Bottom line, the day is yours to enjoy!

5:30pm - Rehearsal

While you are all VIPs in our hearts, this hour is for immediate family & bridal party only.

6:15pm- Welcome Dinner*

Must ingest fuel!  After a long day of activities (or sleep), hang out with us under the trees of Wiawaka while we dine & have a good time!

7pm- "Kickoff celebration"- Welcome Party & FSU SEASON OPENER

Did someone say PARTY?!  Staying on site or not, we'd love for everyone to join us to "kickoff" the  party at Wiawaka as we celebrate the first FSU game of the season, the first official night of our wedding weekend & our last official night of freedom.

9pm- Fireworks & campfire shenanigans

Join us at the campfire area and dock and act like the fireworks display is for us and not put on by Lake George for Labor Day.

Midnight- it’s a new month say “rabbit, rabbit” for good luck!

Sunday, September 1st

10am-1pm- Brunch*

If you are staying on site, just roll out of bed  and over to the Fuller house, where the amazing staff at Wiawaka will provide a buffet style brunch.

Free Day of activities

Whatever you couldn't get to yesterday, today is the day!  If you've already had enough of us, this is the last time to get away so spend it wisely.

4pm- Ceremony

The moment you've all been waiting for (some of us, for 15 years).  Let's do it!

5pm- Reception

Hang out dockside, take in the views and play some lawn games.  Don't forget to grab a drink or snack while you're at it.

6:30pm- Dinner & Dancing
Follow the tunes and head to the tent where you will find your seat, eat & then get on your feet!

11pm- S’mores & More Campfire Shenanigans

After the party, it's the after party.  Quintessential campfire happenings will take place- think: s'mores, stargazing & kumbaya.

Monday, September 2nd

10am- bye bye breakfast*

Drag your hungover bag of bones over to the Fuller House, where we will have coffee, breakfast, maybe eat some more wedding cake and tell stories about the night.

1pm- Check out

The good new is, you've survived.  The bad news is, you've got to go.  When checking out, make sure to put your linens in the proper bins, but more importantly find us before you leave so we can thank you for being a part of our weekend (and lives).  We love you long time.

Accommodations

ACCOMMODATIONS

BE OUR GUEST!

We are so grateful that you are traveling to be with us and excited to invite you to stay for the entire weekend (Friday- Monday)! All 60 acres of Wiawaka will be ours and with so much to offer, we would love to spend as much time as we can with you!

Wiawaka has five buildings, ranging from quaint Victorian cottages to two impressive Adirondack style lodges.  The rooms have either one or two twin beds (can be pushed together) and all houses have shared bathrooms, kitchens or kitchenettes and common areas/porches.  All rooms are clean and have electricity, but no heat or AC (though fans are placed in all rooms).  Linens and towels are provided during your stay. There are no TVs or telephones, so we invite you to unplug with us and enjoy lake life!

The accommodations are like us,  comfortable but rustic, and there are a number of different options, so take a look at the descriptions on the accommodations page to see what house and room might suit your needs best.  We will use our best judgment to assign rooms but if you have a special request or condition for staying on-site, please let us know.

GETTING THERE

TRANSPORTATION

Lake George is located in the beautiful Adirondack region of upstate New York.

If you are flying the closest airport is the Albany International Airport which is 1 hour away.  Other airports within driving distance are listed below,  however, no matter which airport you choose to fly into you will need to rent a car to get to Wiawaka.  All of the weekend activities are at this one location, and because of this we highly recommend sharing a rental car aka carpooling from the airport as a car is not necessary once you arrive on site. If you are having trouble linking up with a carpool group, let us know and we will help!

Nearby Airports (with approximate driving time):

FAQs

FAQs

Help!  answers to your most asked questions...

Are children allowed?

The short answer is no.  The long answer is that we LOVE your little ones (a lot, a lot), however Wiawaka is an entirely lakefront property which means it is not child-friendly.  Additionally, the wedding itself (ceremony, reception & dinner) will be an adults only affair, so we would highly recommend leaving your little ones at home (sorry, I swear we're not heartless monsters).

What do I wear to the wedding?

I'll be in a wedding dress, but you probably shouldn't wear that.  Instead try this season's hottest trend: Lakeside Cocktail Chic.  That means dressy cocktail attire, but comfortable.  The wedding will be mostly on grass, so keep that in mind when selecting shoes.  Another thing to keep in mind: it can get chilly at night, so don't forget to bring a sweater or light jacket.

What do I need to bring?

If you are staying on-site linens and bath towels are provided.  We will also be providing the outdoor necessities like bug spray & sunscreen.  So what does that leave for you to bring?  A bathing suit, beach towel, toiletries, if you get cold, feel free to bring an extra blanket and of course bring your sense of adventure!
